Well, the happier part of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was getting some things figured out for the big move up the coast. I went and checked out the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and started getting some ideas together and budgets. Pretty much we need to set a deadline for my lady’s father to figure out what junk he wants to keep, and what I am going to toss in a big dumpster to get this lot cleaned up. I do have a grand plan to make this place accessible to any Opponaut who wants to take a vacation in one of the most spectacular places in the world. Hell, I will even put a sign out there and there is a one bedroom guest spot attached that will be finished out.

from the end of the driveway
-
it will be circular once more!
There is a 2 post lift sitting under a tarp outside and the main garage can house 6 cars at least indoors, so this could be a hell of a destination, and for a place for Oppo to call it’s real life home. I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with all of you I have met in real life, and online, so this is where this idea comes from. It is going to be a few years worth of work to get it to a spot where I can open the doors, but it is a solid plan.
a new addition
So a little about the place we are converting to the main house. This was the original garage on the property. Actually really solid bones, just full of junk. 1st floor I will be leaving the garage door on it so I can pull something in there where I am going to put the living room. Will make loading in materials easy enough.
second floor is semi finished already, which is where I will have 2 bedrooms. Need to dormer the roof on the left side for additional head height
junk
the back side, needs moar deck
more second floor shots. All open and ready for dormering and insulation on this side
this will be restored, I still have matching speakers around for it
The truck can stay in the front yard, piles of junk, not so much
I think my lady was slightly skeptical about getting the garage space cleaned out
those of you who grew up in the 80’s know what I am going to do with all those TV’s
so that is that part of it. I will keep you all up to date on how it is coming along. Hoping to break ground by August with a clean slate (July is clean up month). Once we get in, open invite to one and all. Oppo rules - dont be a dick
This is just another bonus to the location. Not only the main fish house is a short walk through Acadia National Park from our front door, but the “Little Fish House” is another 5 minutes away. I have been aware of this for some time, but was able to go spend a night there Saturday night. It was glorious, and also available for use.
Pretty much just always remember that you have a nice place to get away for nothing but transportation costs. Of course if anyone wants to help out on a weekend, feel free to pitch in, but I am not expecting it.
Now I have to get back to slaving away to make money to get this thing up and rolling.

Not junk. Clean that sucker up and sell it to a hipster or use it.
Also, looks super rad. For people coming to help, maybe get a wall or board for people to sign, then put it up in the main garage as a sign of thanks?

Oh HELL yes. Mind giving me an aproximate address so I can research travel times and routes? Dunno if you need them, but I also have a bunch of ~100 year-old windows you can have. they’re in white frames with good glass.

Damn, awesome! Definitely don’t throw anything out without at least attempting to research its value. A lot of that stuff looks really, really, really cool.
Hell, if you were closer I’d drive out there just to haul some of it away for you.

I might lean on you for some specs at some point. I have a property map and floor plan to start tearing into later on in the day. I need to climb up on the roof and see if the reported water view is there, if that is the case I will need to plan for a roof deck which will have to need structural reinforcements spec’ed out

Thanks! I’ll take pics. I have three of them and they’re about 1.5’x3. I can bring them down if you want them. I’d also be more than happy to help out with the grunt work. Realistically, it’s a two-day drive for me (one if I push it) but I’ll see what I can do.

Franklin stoves are not junk, homes. They are not only really nice to have, but if you find yourself wanting to sell that one, I have an uncle in another country who has my dad buy them periodically and then sells them to his friends. With them being basically impossible to use in new construction in this country for a while, they’re sometimes hard to find.
Still trying to plan on cracking loose from here soon for a Grande Road Trip. What was funny was Tohru offering me beer to bring him a spot welder to stick together Dogapult’s Celica. WI is a bit further out of the way than I’d planned, but what the hell... maybe?
